Signed "Bellar" Studio Pottery Stoneware Jug

Hand-thrown studio stoneware pitcher by David Bellar, a North Carolina potter whose work draws inspiration from the rich traditions of the Catawba Valley pottery region. This compact pitcher features a classic utilitarian form with a comfortable pulled handle, rounded body, and softly flared pouring lip. The layered brown and black glaze flows over a warm natural stoneware body, creating depth and subtle variation that highlights its handmade craftsmanship. The base is hand-signed "Bellar." Following acquisition, photographs of the pitcher were shared directly with David Bellar, who responded that he believes the piece is his work, further supporting the attribution. A wonderful example of contemporary North Carolina studio pottery that blends traditional Southern pottery forms with modern studio craftsmanship.
